The NSE Nifty index was trading 76.9 points down at 19466.2, while BSE Sensex was down 256.85 points at 65431.33 at the time of writing this report.
In the Nifty index, HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 3.11 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.16 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent), Titan Company Ltd.(up 0.70 per cent) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 0.63 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.59 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
