No Confidence Motion LIVE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government on Thursday defeated the no-confidence motion brought by the opposition. He also spoke on Manipur and peace will be restored soon.
The PM expressed gratitude to people for showing faith in his government and said that the BJP-led NDA will return to power with a record majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The PM was replying to the debate on no-confidence in Lok Sabha.

The no-confidence motion, brought by Opposition’s INDIA bloc, was defeated following a voice vote in Lok Sabha on Thursday evening.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has been suspended from Lok Sabha for the remaining session for his comparison of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Nirav Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra further assured that efforts were underway by Centre, state government to punish the perpetrators behind the Manipur violence.
While discussions on the Manipur issue, PM Modi said, “whatever was said about ‘Maa Bharti’ in this House has hurt the sentiments of people of the country.”
“Some people talked about the death of ‘Maa Bharti’, what can be more unfortunate than this,” he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that peace will be restored in Manipur and that his government “will leave no stones unturned for this.”

PM Modi said he knew about Rahul Gandhi’s mind but now he also knows what’s in his heart. “Unke dimaag ke haal ko lambe samay se jaanta hoon, ab unke dil ka bhi pta chal gaya,” he said.
