Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:15AM

MOIL(up 4.64%), Pokarna(up 2.76%), KIOCL(up 1.82%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.91%), NMDC Ltd(up 0.58%) and Coal India(up 0.50%) were among the top gainers.

Ashapura Minechem(down 1.96%), Lexus Granito(down 0.89%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.30%) and Aro Granite Industries(down 0.21%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 92.5 points down at 19478.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 354.73 points at 65491.77 at around 11:15AM.

Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 2.91%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 1.23%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.95%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.85%), JSW Steel(up 0.76%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.75%), UPL Ltd(up 0.56%), Coal India(up 0.5%) and HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.5%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Divis Laboratories(down 2.36%), ICICI Bank(down 1.2%), Reliance Industries(down 1.06%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.04%), Cipla(down 0.93%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.91%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.88%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.87%), HDFC Bank(down 0.87%) and Bajaj Finance(down 0.84%) were trading in the red.
