A lady in Chhattisgarh, who was upset with her boyfriend, reportedly climbed a transmission tower to commit suicide.
A video of the incident has now gone viral.
As per reports, the boyfriend later followed her up and convinced her to climb down after half an hour of pleading.
The couple is now said to be safe and sound.
Industrialist, Harsh Goenka shared the video on Twitter, to which some have given hillarious replies.
"Sholay ke scene aaj bhi copy karte hain," said one.
"High voltage drama," wrote another.
Another said, "Thanks to govt of Chattisgarh as no power was moving in wires."
Another Twitter user commented, "Our country is full of talent. New tower climbing champions."
This is not the first such incident, though. Ever since the iconic scene of the movie 'Sholay' in which Dharmendra’s Veeru climbs atop a water tank, threatning to end his life if he does not get to marry Basanti (Hema Malini), many lovebirds have tried to imitate the same in real life.
In 2021, a 25-year-old man in Burdwan scaled a mobile tower and threatened to jump to his death if the family of the woman he loved wouldn't accept him as a suitor.
A lovestruck man in Odisha did the same earlier this year.
Last year, a girl in Uttar Pradesh climbed a water tank after her boyfriend refused to marry her.
It isn't always a love bird, though.
In 2016, some villagers in the Aurangabad district of Marathwada adopted the same route to demand the release of water from Jaikwadi Dam. Several residents of villages in Paithan Tehsil climbed atop a water tank to press for their demand for water supply to their village, which had been facing a water crisis for a long time.
