Suzlon Energy(down 2.97%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(down 2.33%), RTNPOWER(down 2.00%), Orient Green Power Company(down 1.97%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.56%), JSW Energy(down 1.29%), Voltamp Transformers(down 1.21%), Energy Development Company(down 0.88%), Kalpataru Projects International(down 0.57%) and Reliance Power(down 0.55%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 144.9 points down at 19381.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 542.1 points at 65240.68.
Adani Enterprises(up 2.39%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.56%), Eicher Motors(up 1.41%), Divis Laboratories(up 0.97%), Infosys(up 0.55%), Grasim Industries(up 0.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.51%), NTPC(up 0.46%), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.08%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(up 0.06%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 3.02%), Titan Company Ltd(down 2.52%), ICICI Bank(down 2.22%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.19%), Bajaj Finserv(down 2.18%), Coal India(down 1.92%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.83%), Nestle India(down 1.78%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.58%) and Hero MotoCorp(down 1.37%) closed in the red.
