Nuh Violence News Live: The Haryana government has reported registering 44 FIRs as of Tuesday evening to investigate the communal clashes in different districts, leading to the arrest of 80 individuals. The majority of these FIRs, at least 22, were filed in Nuh, reported Times of India quoting senior police officers.
Communal violence in Haryana's Nuh escalated, resulting in the death toll reaching five. The violence included the late-night attack on a mosque, the burning of an eatery, and the vandalism of shops. In response to the attack on a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession in Nuh, people blocked roads and closed businesses. The tension also extended to neighbouring Gurugram.
Violence was also reported in Palwal district, where a mob set fire to over 25 huts in Parshuram Colony, but no injuries were reported. In Bhiwadi town, Rajasthan, "two or three" shops on the highway were vandalized.
Two more people, among the 50 injured in Nuh on Monday, succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. Notably, two of the four casualties in the clash were home guards, while ten of the injured were policemen, with three on ventilator support.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar described the Nuh attack as part of a larger conspiracy, and the Vishva Hindu Parishad demanded an investigation by the National Investigation Agency.
In response to the escalating situation, authorities imposed a curfew in Nuh district on Tuesday morning. Security forces conducted flag marches in adjoining districts, and several peace committee meetings were organized.
The violence continued with mobs targeting the VHP procession at Khedla Mod in Nuh, which resulted in gunfire, stone-pelting, and the torching of cars. However, the police dispersed the mob in Sohna town, Gurugram, by 9 pm on Monday, preventing casualties.
During the early hours after midnight, around 100 people targeted the Anjuman Masjid in Gurugram's sector 57, shouting slogans, pelting stones, and opening fire at the four individuals inside the mosque.
