MOIL(down 1.21%), Aro Granite Industries(down 1.04%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.95%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.89%), Coal India(down 0.63%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.58%) and NMDC Ltd(down 0.18%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 118.4 points down at 19659.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 440.38 points at 66266.82.
Cipla(up 9.64%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 2.06%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.67%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.16%), Bharti Airtel(up 0.65%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.58%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.57%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.53%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.53%) and Tata Motors(up 0.41%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra(down 6.31%), Tech Mahindra(down 3.79%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 2.73%), Britannia Industries(down 2.21%), Nestle India(down 2.08%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.05%), Bajaj Finance(down 2.01%), Axis Bank(down 1.73%), Adani Enterprises(down 1.71%) and ITC(down 1.52%) closed in the red.
