Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 8.25 points down at 19680.6 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.
However, stocks such as BKM Industries, Zee Learn, Jalan Transolutions, Power & Instrument and Lexus Granito(India), touched their fresh 52-week lows.
Overall, 25 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 25 closed in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Hindalco, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, NTPC and UltraTech Cem. were among top gainers during the day, while Asian Paints, ITC, L&T, Britannia and IndusInd Bank ended in the red.
The BSE Sensex closed 29.07 points down at 66355.71.
Traders piled up positions in Power, Telecommunications, Metals - Ferrous, Cement and Metals - Non Ferrous sectors, while selling was witnessed in Banks, Building Materials, Airlines, Irrigation & Allied Services and Tobacco sectors during the day.
