Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 0.2%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 2.16 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 1.31 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 1.05 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(up 1.05 per cent) and Indiabulls Real Estate(up 0.75 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, DLF(down 1.36 per cent), Mahindra Lifespace Developers(down 0.8 per cent), SOBHA(down 0.71 per cent), Phoenix Mills(down 0.69 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(down 0.65 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.2 per cent up at 537.15.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 72.65 points at 19672.35, while the BSE Sensex stood down 299.48 points at 66384.78.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, SJVN and Utkarsh Small Financ were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Kriti Nutrients, Wendt India, Aarti Drugs, Sarveshwar Foods and Thangamayil Jew hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Zee Learn, Proventus Agrocom, Setubandhan Infra, Pentagon Rubber and Drone Destination hit their fresh 52-week lows.
