Anyone who thought Apple was not working on an AI system is delusional. Apple may not be the first to release a new and innovative product but when they do release it, it is usually the best in class and becomes immediately profitable. yes they have had some epic fails like the Newton, Lisa, and Apple Maps but in the grand scheme of things, they didn't become a 3 trillion dollar behemoth by failing.

iPod, iPhone, iPad, Airpods, Macbook, and the list goes on. When they do release a ChatGPT alternative, it will likely blow the competition away and investors will be rewarded. AAPL is my largest holding for the last 23 years and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Long Apple.

Great thought piece. Three quick thoughts:
1. Apple has already optimized silicon and OS for Emad mostaque’s Stability AI. Could see them doing same for other open source LLMs as well (META should have partnered with them)
2 per Ben Thompson, wouldn’t be surprised for apple to forms the same type of relationship with Anthropic as MSFT has with Open AI
3. Can see them being uniquely qualified for being “the platform” for Personal AIs (given power and or integration of silicon, OS, hardware & ecosystem….and privacy.

My biggest concern is how good will Apple GPT be given their stance on privacy and their ability to use data needed to train their AI/ML models.

I think there is room for monetization on Apple GPT just that they haven't figured out how to do it without sacrificing "privacy". It could end up as a local device (iPhone/ iPad/ Apple Watch/ iMac/ Vision Pro) AI assistant that would seamlessly integrate with existing iOS platform. That said, if Apple GPT could increase workflow productivity among enterprise/ school/ creative users seamlessly, it would have a lot more room for monetization.

@kyle2503 this could be game changing! Unbelievable!
