Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 0.04%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 3.09 per cent), Godrej Properties(up 0.3 per cent), Phoenix Mills(up 0.27 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Oberoi Realty(down 1.8 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 1.4 per cent), DLF(down 0.85 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(down 0.82 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(down 0.33 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 0.04 per cent down at 536.1.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 234.15 points at 19745.0, while the BSE Sensex stood down 887.64 points at 66684.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 ended in the green, while 38 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Reliance Power and Rail Vikas Nigam were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Utkarsh Small Financ, DB Corp., Ucal Fuel Sys, Tanla Solutions and Cupid Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while KKV Agro Powers Ltd., Cell Point(India), Spectrum Talent Mana, Quality Foils(India and Bombay Metrics Suppl hit their fresh 52-week lows.
