    Marico shares down 0.31% as Nifty gains

    NEW DELHI: Shares of Marico Ltd. traded 0.31 per cent down in Tuesday's trade at 11:44AM (IST). Around 4,602 shares changed hands on the counter.

    The counter opened at Rs 534.05 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 535.1 and Rs 529.25, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Marico Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 559.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 462.95.

    As per BSE, the total market cap of the Marico Ltd. stood at Rs 68630.45 crore at the time of writing this report.

    Key Financials
    The company reported consolidated net sales of Rs 2308.0 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2023, down 8.05 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 2510.0 crore and down 5.63 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 2185.0 crore.

    The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 302.0 crore, up 20.32 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

    Shareholding pattern
    As of 31-Mar-2023, domestic institutional investors held 3.17 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 24.97 per cent and the promoters 59.39 per cent.


    Valuation ratio
    According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 52.71 and a price-to-book ratio of 16.29. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
