    Delhi Flood News Live: Waterlogging reported from Rajghat, ITO road, and other areas; schools to remain closed till July 16

    The flood-like situation in the national capital of Delhi continues to remain grim with many areas witnessing water-logging.

    Videos tweeted by news wire agency PTI showed waterlogging in ITO as well as Rajghat area.

    Meanwhile, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has said that the Red Fort will remain closed for public and general visitors till Friday.

    The water level in Yamuna river shattered the 45-year-old record and was flowing at 208.6 meter on Thursday. On September 6, 1978, Yamuna had touched the water level of 207.49 meter.Following the flood in several low-lying areas of the national capital thousands of people have been evacuated while several roads in Delhi have been closed for traffic as the water flooded the streets.At least 12 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have also been deployed in Delhi for rescue and evacuation operations.

    Schools in Noida to stay shut on July 14

    The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Thursday ordered that all schools up to Class 12 will remain closed across Noida and Greater Noida on Friday on account of the Yamuna crossing the danger mark and chances of rain. The Yamuna crossed the danger mark of 200.60 metres downstream of Okhla Barrage around 11.45 am Thursday, according to the Irrigation Department.

    Schools in Delhi to remain closed till July 16

    All government and private schools in Delhi will remain closed till July 16 in view of the rising Yamuna water levels, Directorate of Education (DoE) officials said on Thursday. "In view of the directions issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority on account to the rising waters of the river Yamuna, all government and private schools under the Directorate of Education shall remain closed up to 16.07.2023 (Sunday) for all purposes," a circular from the DoE said.

    Red Fort to remain shut for public till Friday

    Amid a flood-like situation in the national capital, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has said that the Red Fort will remain closed for public and general visitors till Friday.In a notice on Thursday, the ASI said: "In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 5 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules, 1959, the Director General, Archaeological Survey of India hereby direct that the Red Fort, Delhi shall remain closed for the public and general visitors from second half of 13 to 14 July, 2023 due to heavy monsoon and rainfall."
