Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

The NSE Nifty index closed 150.75 points up at 19564.5

NEW DELHI: TCS(Rs. 2171.45 crore), HDFC Bank(Rs. 2030.98 crore), RIL(Rs. 1911.78 crore), Infosys(Rs. 1805.32 crore), Kotak Bank(Rs. 1334.86 crore), Power Grid(Rs. 1295.98 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 1233.79 crore), Zomato(Rs. 758.39 crore), HCL Tech(Rs. 752.67 crore) and Zee Ent.(Rs. 734.63 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Friday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 150.75 points up at 19564.5, while BSE Sensex rose 502.01 points to 66060.9.

In the Nifty index, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 5.21 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 4.54 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 4.46 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 4.08 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 3.80 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.30 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent) and Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.

Dalal-Street Indices Pare Gains After Scaling Fresh Highs
Indian shares returned to winning ways to test fresh highs on Thursday as traders cheered the cooler-than-expected US inflation report amid hopes the Federal Reserve could rein in prices without pushing the economy into recession.
Jobs Scandal Code of Conduct Violation, Not Systemic Failure
The recruitment scandal at India’s largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was a one-off code of conduct violation and not a “systemic failure”, said CEO and MD K Krithivasan, 58, adding that the incident was swiftly dealt with and has had no impact on relationships with clients.
TCS can be Imposed on Payment Service Providers for Online Gaming
The GST Council decided to levy 28% GST on online gaming where any kind of wagering is involved. The industry has criticised the decision saying it will hurt FDI and employment. Revenue secretary Sanjay Malhotra said there was a moral and social dimension to the decision.
