Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:06AM

Future Consumer(up 5.88%), Sheetal Cool Products(up 3.00%), Vadilal Industries(up 2.15%), Gillette India(up 1.29%), Britannia Industries(up 1.16%), Hindustan Foods(up 0.72%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.53%), Dangee Dums(up 0.42%), Heritage Foods(up 0.41%) and P & G Hygiene(up 0.39%) were among the top gainers.

Patanjali Foods(down 5.00%), Parag Milk(down 1.52%), Varun Beverages(down 0.83%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 0.66%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.50%), Adani Wilmar(down 0.32%), Bikaji Foods International(down 0.24%), Emami(down 0.22%), Dabur India(down 0.16%) and ADF Foods(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 160.9 points up at 19545.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 572.99 points at 65966.89 at around 11:06AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 3.12%), Tata Consultancy(up 2.86%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.72%), Infosys(up 2.62%), SBI Life(up 2.61%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.91%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.88%), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 1.5%), Wipro(up 1.47%) and UltraTech Cement(up 1.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.26%), Coal India(down 1.13%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.91%), Eicher Motors(down 0.79%), UPL Ltd(down 0.6%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.52%), Asian Paints(down 0.49%), NTPC(down 0.39%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.21%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.16%) were trading in the red.
