Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:27AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 6.97%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.72%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 2.40%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 2.31%), EID Parry(up 0.65%), Bannari Amman Sugars(up 0.47%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.46%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.43%), Rana Sugars(up 0.42%) and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.37%) were among the top gainers.

Sakthi Sugars(down 0.80%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.50%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 0.41%), BAJAJHIND(down 0.29%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.29%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.21%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 0.16%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(down 0.13%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 166.95 points up at 19551.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 612.52 points at 66006.42 at around 11:27AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 3.22%), Tata Consultancy(up 3.0%), Infosys(up 2.98%), SBI Life(up 2.62%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.52%), Tech Mahindra(up 1.91%), Bajaj Finserv(up 1.65%), LTIMindtree Ltd(up 1.58%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.4%) and IndusInd Bank(up 1.33%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.34%), Coal India(down 1.56%), Eicher Motors(down 1.17%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.12%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.67%), UPL Ltd(down 0.6%), Asian Paints(down 0.47%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 0.35%), Nestle India(down 0.27%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.13%) were trading in the red.
