Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.38% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:17AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 1.11 per cent), Coforge(up 0.72 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 0.63 per cent), MPhasis(up 0.51 per cent) and Tata Consultancy(up 0.3 per cent) were among the top gainers.

LTIMindtree Ltd(down 0.71 per cent), HCL Technologies(down 0.62 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 0.26 per cent) and L&T Technology(down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.38 per cent at 29305.45 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 144.0 points at 19499.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 478.23 points at 65822.4.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 43 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, IDFC First Bank, Reliance Power, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Premier Exp, Cyient DLM, Mazagon Dock Ship, Gayatri Rubbers and Zen Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Magson Retail & Dist, Greenchef Appliances, Essen Speciality Fil, Cell Point(India)and Pentagon Rubber hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
