Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 11:12AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 2.50%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(up 1.22%), Rana Sugars(up 0.42%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 0.41%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 0.38%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.37%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.33%), BAJAJHIND(up 0.30%), MAGADHSUGAR(up 0.26%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers.

Sakthi Sugars(down 1.39%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.62%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.49%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.48%), EID Parry(down 0.45%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 0.43%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 0.36%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 0.21%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 0.12%) and Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 139.3 points up at 19495.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 465.55 points at 65809.72 at around 11:12AM.

Eicher Motors(up 2.08%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.88%), Britannia Industries(up 1.85%), Hindustan Unilever(up 1.77%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.74%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.68%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.62%), Grasim Industries(up 1.55%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 1.44%) and Asian Paints(up 1.4%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, UPL Ltd(down 1.58%), JSW Steel(down 0.65%), HCL Technologies(down 0.53%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.27%), Hindalco Industries(down 0.23%) and Axis Bank(down 0.03%) were trading in the red.
