Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.86% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:35AM(IST)on Monday in an upbeat market.

MPhasis(up 0.29 per cent) were among the top gainers.

HCL Technologies(down 1.98 per cent), L&T Technology(down 1.65 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd(down 1.55 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 1.0 per cent) and Persistent Systems(down 0.94 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.86 per cent at 29307.3 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 75.9 points at 19407.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 261.91 points at 65542.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, PNB, YES Bank, Reliance Power and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cyient DLM Ltd., Orient Abrasive, Olectra Greentech, Kriti Ind and Refex Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Alps Industries, KKV Agro Powers Ltd., Setubandhan Infra, Quintegra Sol and Rachana Infrastructu hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
