    Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev seeks re-poll

    Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is tipped to be re-elected for another term following the election held on Sunday, has expressed hope of expanding ties with India to counter the menace of terrorism and radicalisation across the region.

    On the invitation of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, a delegation of the Election Commission of India led by election commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey is visiting Uzbekistan to observe the country's presidential election. Uzbekistan adopted a new constitution after holding a public referendum on April 30.
