Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

Synopsis

The NSE Nifty index closed 98.8 points up at 19497.3

NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank(Rs. 4367.15 crore), RIL(Rs. 2319.15 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 1567.68 crore), HDFC(Rs. 1341.50 crore), Ceat(Rs. 1273.75 crore), Eicher Motors(Rs. 1240.62 crore), Axis Bank(Rs. 994.49 crore), M&M(Rs. 858.64 crore), Tata Motors(Rs. 857.67 crore) and Bajaj Finance(Rs. 812.26 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 98.8 points up at 19497.3, while BSE Sensex rose 339.6 points to 65785.64.

In the Nifty index, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 4.98 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 4.05 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 3.73 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.13 per cent) and Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 2.10 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 2.65 per cent), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.85 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.18 per cent) and Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.92 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
