Stock market update: Mining stocks mixed as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading mixed on Thursday at 10:40AM

Madhav Marbles and Granites(up 1.75%), Coal India(up 1.56%), KIOCL(up 1.29%), MOIL(up 0.84%), Pokarna(up 0.83%), Oriental Trimex(up 0.81%) and Ashapura Minechem(up 0.04%) were among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 3.32%), 20 Microns(down 0.64%), Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(down 0.59%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.56%), NMDC Ltd(down 0.47%) and Aro Granite Industries(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 48.5 points up at 19447.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 161.22 points at 65607.26 at around 10:40AM.

Britannia Industries(up 2.63%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.18%), Reliance Industries(up 1.95%), Nestle India(up 1.53%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.38%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.32%), SBI Life(up 1.15%), Coal India(up 1.15%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.0%) and Cipla(up 0.92%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 2.37%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.42%), Tata Steel(down 0.97%), HCL Technologies(down 0.9%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.68%), HDFC(down 0.65%), HDFC Bank(down 0.59%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.56%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.51%) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.45%) were trading in the red.
