Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 18.93 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 11.25 crore), Reliance Power(number of shares traded: 9.17 crore), Dish TV India(number of shares traded: 5.88 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 3.70 crore), Bank of Maharashtra(number of shares traded: 3.53 crore), BHEL(number of shares traded: 3.02 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 2.35 crore), South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 1.96 crore) and SJVN(number of shares traded: 1.81 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:01AM in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 58.95 points up at 19457.45, while BSE Sensex was up 196.82 points at 65642.86 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 2.34 per cent), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 2.12 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.95 per cent), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 2.79 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.55 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.10 per cent), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent) and Tata Steel Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
