ReutersRashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 5.54%), Madras Fertlizers(up 4.28%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 3.05%), G S F C(up 2.43%), Rama Phosphates(up 2.33%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 2.12%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 2.06%), National Fertilizer(up 1.91%), Aries Agro(up 1.88%) and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 1.29%) stood among the top gainers.
Bohra Industries(down 5.00%), KRISHANA(down 1.59%) and Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.52%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 9.5 points up at 19398.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 33.01 points at 65446.04.
Bajaj Auto(up 5.72%), Divis Laboratories(up 5.57%), Hero MotoCorp(up 4.24%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 4.11%), Maruti Suzuki(up 3.58%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.63%), IndusInd Bank(up 2.35%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.35%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.07%) and ITC(up 1.88%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank(down 3.18%), HDFC(down 3.07%), Eicher Motors(down 2.71%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 1.13%), UPL Ltd(down 1.06%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.01%), Bajaj Finserv(down 0.97%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.63%), JSW Steel(down 0.6%) and Tata Motors(down 0.54%) closed in the red.
