During the meeting, Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Prahlad Singh Patel also spoke. Modi holds a meeting of his Council of Ministers at regular intervals and discusses issues related to governance and suggests good practices for making their offices more productive.
Monday's meeting was keenly watched in political circles as it came amid buzz about a Cabinet reshuffle. Unlike in his previous stint, Modi has reshuffled his Cabinet only once since 2019. With less than a year left for 2024, BJP may like to give some berths to new allies like the Shinde faction of the Shiv Sena and the newly joined Praful Patel-led NCP faction in Maharashtra.
