Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.28% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:17AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Punjab National Bank(up 4.46 per cent), Federal Bank(up 3.33 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 2.29 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.31 per cent) and HDFC Bank(up 0.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.

IDFCBANK(down 3.36 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.65 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.23 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 0.2 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.11 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.28 per cent at 45286.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 22.6 points at 19345.15, while the BSE Sensex was up 127.61 points at 65332.66.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Vodafone Idea and IDFC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Goldstone Tech, Genus Pwr Infra, Aster DM Health, La Opala RG and Suzlon Energy hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bombay Metrics Suppl, Vilin Bio Med Ltd., Cell Point(India), Rajesh Exports and Sanco Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
