Delhi Govt vs L-G: SC to hear DERC matter on 11th July; chairman oath on hold
The Supreme Court on Monday deferred the oath taking ceremony of DERC chairperson-designate Justice (retd) Umesh Kumar and sought responses from the Centre and the office of the Lieutenant Governor on a plea of the Delhi government challenging the law governing such an appointment. SC to hear DERC matter next Tuesday. No oath for DERC chairman till then. "L-G shouldn't ask CM to administer oath", CJI said.
