2 min read 03 Jul 2023, 06:51 AM ISTIMD predicts heavy rains in parts of India, including Konkan, Goa, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya. Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha also warned of heavy rainfall. Light rain expected in Haryana and UP.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rains in several parts of the country today. As per IMD, very heavy rains are likely to occur over Konkan, Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Bihar. Moreover, the IMD has also predicted extremely heavy falls over Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 3rd July.
Also, heavy rainfall warning has been issued over Gangetic West Bengal Jharkhand and Odisha during 3rd- 6th July.
The RWFC Delhi in a tweet also predicted light intensity rain in Haryana UP during the next 2 hours.
It wrote, “03/07/2023: 06:10 IST; Thunderstorm with light intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Narnaul (Haryana) . Light intensity rain/drizzle would occur over and adjoining areas of Yamunanagar (Haryana) Saharanpur, Sahaswan (U.P.) during next 2 hours."
In Delhi, the weatherman has forecast generally cloudy skies with light rain or thundershowers for today. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 37 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
In Gujarat, the weather office said that heavy rains were very likely at isolated places in the districts of south Gujarat and Saurashtra till Monday morning. Earlier on Sunday, Heavy rains in several parts of Gujarat created a flood-like situation and led to many villages getting cut off.
On Sunday, IMD also informed that Tamil Nadu will likely receive light to moderate rainfall in several districts in the next three days. "On July 3, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts, Tirupur, Dindigul, Theni, Thenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Tiruvallur, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Ranippet, Tirupattur, Thiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Cuddalore and Puducherry districts", the IMD said in a statement.

-Isolated heavy rainfall likely over South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe during next four days.
-Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during 03rd-05th July.
-Extremely heavy falls likley over Coastal & South Interior Karnataka on 4th July and over Kerala and Mahe on 4th and 5th July.
-Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Telangana on 4th and 05th July; over Rayalaseema 3rd-5th July; over North Interior Karnataka 4th and 6th July and over Lakshadweep on 4th July.
West India:
-Isolated Heavy to very Heavy rainfall is very likely over Konkan and Goa and Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during next four days and Gujarat State on 2nd and 6th July.
East & adjoining Northeast India:
-Heavy to Very Heavy falls very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next four days.
-Heavy to Very Heavy falls very likely over Bihar 2nd and 3rd July
-Extremely heavy falls over Assam & Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 3rd July.
-Isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Gangetic West Bengal on 3rd July; over Jharkhand on 3rd and 4th July and over Odisha during 3rd- 6th July.
