Unmatched capacity and dimensions
Measuring a staggering 1,200 feet (365 meters) in length, the Icon of the Seas dominates the seascape. Weighing 250,800 tonnes, this mammoth cruise ship is an engineering marvel. It boasts an unprecedented capacity of 7,960 people, which will translate to 5,610 passengers or 2,350 crew members.

Water slides and aquatic delights
The Icon of the Seas has record-breaking six water slides and Category 6. Category 6 water park has six water slides, including an open free-fall slide, family raft slides and two mat-racing slides. It also has seven pools and nine whirlpools, reported Business Today.
Unparalleled amenities and luxurious features
The ship's impressive 20 decks house a range of luxurious features. Its various features include a water park, family areas, revamped pool decks, an aqua dome area, an aqua theatre area, huge floor-to-ceiling windows, offering 220-degree views, a park with live plants, a swim-up bar, and an infinity pool. It offers a range of cabin options, with more than 82 percent of rooms accommodating three or more guests and over 70 percent featuring balconies.
Itinerary and destinations
When the ship enters service, from Miami on January 27, 2024, the Icon of the Seas will embark on weeklong Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
The 7-night Eastern Caribbean trip will include destinations such as Miami, Phillipsburg, Charlotte Amalie, and Perfect Day at CocoCay, while another will include Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis, Charlotte Amalie, and Perfect Day at CocoCay.
The 7-night Western Caribbean will include destinations such as Miami, Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Additionally, the itinerary also includes visits to Royal Caribbean's private island retreat, Perfect Day at CocoCay and Hideaway Beach which is going to open soon.
Unmatched comfort and accommodations
The Icon of the Seas offers 28 different types of cabins ,over 70 percent of the rooms feature balconies and more than 82 percent of the cabins can accommodate three or more guests, reported Business Today.
Successful trial run
Over 450 specialists worked tirelessly during the ship's sea trials, testing vital systems such as engines, hull integrity, braking mechanisms, and noise and vibration levels. Another set of trials is scheduled for later this year to further evaluate the ship's capabilities before its official induction into the Royal Caribbean fleet.
