Mumbai: Indian
equity markets will remain closed for trading on Thursday on the eve of
Bakri Eid instead of Wednesday, the BSE and
NSE said in a circular. This is in line with the announcement made by the Maharashtra general administration department on Monday regarding the change in the holiday on account of Bakri Eid. "In view of the holiday being shifted to Thursday, the expiry of the weekly as well as the monthly derivative contracts has been moved to Wednesday," NSE said in a separate circular.
Bonds, FX and money markets to be shut on June 29
Following the Maharashtra government's declaration of June 29 as a public holiday, there will be no transactions and settlements in government securities, foreign exchange, money markets and rupee
interest rate derivatives on that day, the Reserve Bank of India said. "Settlement of all outstanding transactions due on June 29, 2023 will accordingly get postponed to the next working day i.e., June 30, 2023," the central bank said. - Our Bureau
