Vishwaraj Sugar Industries(down 6.73%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(down 2.07%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.53%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.50%), Simbhaoli Sugars(down 1.00%), Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.84%), EID Parry(down 0.76%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.32%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(down 0.25%) and Rana Sugars(down 0.21%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 126.2 points up at 18817.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 446.03 points at 63416.03.
HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 5.86%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 2.1%), JSW Steel(up 1.83%), State Bank of India(up 1.62%), SBI Life(up 1.58%), HDFC(up 1.53%), Bharti Airtel(up 1.52%), HDFC Bank(up 1.41%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.38%) and Axis Bank(up 1.32%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 1.24%), Britannia Industries(down 1.1%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.97%), UPL Ltd(down 0.71%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.57%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.49%), Eicher Motors(down 0.45%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.32%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.25%) and ITC(down 0.13%) closed in the red.
