Odisha accident: 10 killed, 8 injured in bus collision; CM Patnaik announces ex-gratia

As many as 10 people were killed and eight others injured in a head-on collision between two buses under Digapahandi police limit in Odisha's Ganjam district on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, an official said.
Following the bus collision, the injured were immediately rushed to the MKCG Medical College for treatment, said District Magistrate of Ganjam Dibya Jyoti Parida, as quoted by the news agency ANI.
Speaking to media persons, Jyoti said, "Two buses collided in which 10 people died. The injured were immediately admitted to MKCG Medical College for treatment. Investigation into the case is underway. We are trying to provide all possible help to the injured.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed grief over the death of ten people in the bus accident and announced an ex-gratia of ₹3 lakh to the kin of deceased persons, an official statement from the CM office read.
