Union Minister Parshottam Rupala on Monday launched the Nandi portal, aimed at facilitating the process of granting No Objection Certificates (NOC) for veterinary drugs and vaccines.

According to the ministry of fisheries, animal husbandry & dairying, the Nandi portal, developed by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) in collaboration with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), will streamline the regulatory approval process for veterinary products. It will enhance transparency and efficiency in assessing and examining proposals for veterinary drugs and vaccines.

During the launch event, Rupala applauded the efforts of the DAHD and highlighted the significance of the Nandi portal in advancing the Digital India initiative. He emphasized the portal’s role in promoting the well-being of livestock and the livestock industry. The minister praised the collaboration between various government departments, institutes, and industry stakeholders in developing the portal.

The Nandi portal will seamlessly integrate with the SUGAM portal of the CDSCO, further simplifying the approval process for veterinary products. It will enable end-to-end coordination between departments, committees, subcommittees, and applicants, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Rupala stressed the importance of closely monitoring the portal’s activities during its initial implementation phase to establish a robust and effective system. He expressed gratitude to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) and all other stakeholders for their contributions to the development of the portal.

Sanjeev Balyan, Minister of State for animal husbandry, dairying, and fisheries of India, commended the efforts of the department in aligning with the Digital India mission. He highlighted the crucial role of veterinary vaccines in safeguarding animal health, improving production, and preventing the transmission of infectious diseases to humans.
