Monsoon alert: In a major relief from scorching heat, IMD has predicted heavy rainfall warning for Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Vidarbha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana for next three days. Monsoon is set to reach Delhi by Monday and has begun to yield its impact in Mumbai.

IMD issues Orange alert for Mumbai for next 24 hours

In the wake of heavy rainfall in the metro city, Indian Meteorolgical Department has issued Orange alert for next twenty four hours on Saturday.

“As informed by @Indiametdept , in view of continuous and more spells expected, Mumbai is being upgraded to Orange Alert for next 24 hours. Citizens are requested to take necessary precautions," tweeted BMC on Saturday
