Varanasi: A 65-year-old sadhvi was found dead on Thursday in her room of Nishkam Seva Ashram Trust, Baikunthpur village in Adalhat police station area of Mirzapur district. Her room was locked from outside. The body was rotten. The police are investigating the matter.
According to reports, Sadhvi Bhoojyoti was heading the ashram. She was not seen for the last several days. There are many shops right in front of the ashram. The shopkeepers said that Sadhvi had not been seen for about 25 days.
After smelling the stench they went to the ashram on Thursday evening. When they peeped into the room through the window, they saw her body lying on the bed. They immediately informed the police.

Om Prakash Singh and CO Chunar Umashankar Singh reached the spot along with the forensic team and dog squad. The police broke the lock of the room and took out the body.
The ASP said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. “The cause of death will become clear after receiving the post-mortem report. According to initial investigation, it seems to be a case of murder. Investigation is being done from every angle,” he said.
