HYDERABAD: Telangana Congress senior leaders - N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy - have put brakes on the proposed joining of a former MLA from Nakrekal and a few leaders of BRS from the undivided Nalgonda district into the Congress. The two leaders expressed their ire over not being consulted by the state leadership before proposing to take any leader from the undivided Nalgonda district into the party. Uttam has reportedly found fault with the party leadership for blindly believing the survey reports being submitted by party's election strategist Sunil Kanugolu and his team about the candidates who can be drafted into the party.
Nalgonda is the only district in Telangana which has representation of two Congress MPs in the Lok Sabha in Uttam and Komatireddy.
The ex-MLA and a senior leader who contested 2014 election from Kodad but lost to N Padmavathi Reddy of Congress wanted to join the Congress along with former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and his followers.
However, their names were kept under wraps by the state leadership following objections from Uttam and Venkat Reddy.
