GURGAON: A 35-year-old man was allegedly thrashed by an unidentified person after a scuffle over car parking at Maruti Kunj in Sohna road on Sunday.
According to cops, the victim, Vikas Chaudhary, is a migrant worker from Bihar and is currently residing in Shani Enclave, Maruti Kunj.
Chaudhary in his complaint said that on Sunday, he had stepped out to buy groceries and a car was parked wrongly, obstructing the way. He had an altercation with the man who brought the car.
“The man left the place at that time and returned with around eight other men armed with sticks and rods. All of them started thrashing me and then fled when passersby intervened. I started bleeding and suffered injuries on my head. I was then rushed to the nearby hospital,” the victim said in his complaint.
An FIR under relevant sections of the IPC was registered against an unknown person on Thursday at Bhondsi police station.
A social activist, claiming to be a representative for migrant workers, has demanded speedy action in the case.
Mukhesh Jha of Bhumija Maithili Manch, said, “The incident happened on Sunday but the police registered the case on Thursday. We demand that the accused be arrested within 48 hours, failing which, we will protest against the growing atrocities against migrant workers.”

“A case has been registered and a search has been launched. The accused will soon be arrested and will be penalised as per the proper procedures,” said Subhash Boken, police spokesperson.
