The number of cinema releases may still be down on pre-Covid rates, but some of the movies we’ve seen so far this year have been remarkable

Six months into the year and the one sure thing you can say about cinema releases is that there haven’t been an awful lot of them. Post-Covid, the release schedule has not rebounded, thanks partly to the growing trend among streaming giants to release virtually and avoid cinemas altogether.
