Nagpur: Chetan Khangarle, 15, was strangled to death by his minor friend who had grabbed his neck to save himself from getting drowned at a rivulet near New Nanda on June 20.
It’s learnt Khangarle was sitting on the bank of the rivulets when the minor started drowning. The desperate minor had grabbed Khangarle’s leg to save himself. Khangarle lost balance and fell into the rivulet.
The minor then grabbed Khangarle to remain afloat, and in the process ended up strangulating him. Khaparkheda police have charged the minor with culpable homicide not amounting to murder under section 304 of IPC.
Two get lifer for murderThe district and additional sessions judge on Friday sentenced two persons — Fayeem Shaikh and Nazeem Shaikh — to life imprisonment and fine of ₹6,000 each holding them guilty for the murder of
Azhar Shaikh in 2020 in Narkhed over a petty issue.
It’s learnt Azhar had a fight earlier in the day at the garage of Fayeem and Nazeem over his bike’s repairing issues.
The two ganged up later in the evening and thrashed Azhar to death.
An offence was registered at the Narkhed police station of Nagpur rural. TNN
