Summary

  • In spite of decelerating growth rates, Microsoft has shown great resiliency amidst the tough macro environment.
  • Microsoft Azure will likely see material benefits from the growth at OpenAI.
  • Microsoft is generating secular growth while returning all of its free cash flow to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases.
  • I am downgrading MSFT stock due to the valuation being unattractive relative to mega-cap tech peers.

I'd rather have MSFT shared than GOOGLE which 95% profit is based on search... SEarch could be quickly disrupted with AI

With your findings, I disagree. How I see Microsoft is an online organization that is present in almost all areas without too much litigation with governments or patents. Still going strong.
Azure cloud is doing better than Google , helping Google with the Apple deal. What company uses Google from Excel? And with OpenAI clearly have the lead vs con peers.
I could go on but my long position in MSFT (#2 in my portfolio) remains as is.
Including growing dividends which serves as a side benefit to the share prices.

Buying more MSFT- shares if it‘s going down. It‘s not accidental that Google didn‘t hit its ATH this year. There‘s still plenty room for Microsoft to grow. Iam very bullish on Microsoft.

Would you be selling Microsoft shares? Or just “downgrading” them?

Microsoft is gonna be devastated that you’re downgrading. Valuation is definitely the most obvious risk, but valuation should never be your primary reason for selling a stock. In the event of a crash, MSFT will be one of the very last ones standing.
