Furnish info on facilities for disabled in courts: HC
Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Friday asked the state government about the facilities provided for the physically challenged people in the district courts. The court has ordered the government to file an affidavit in the matter.
A division bench of Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra and Justice Ananda Sen were hearing a public interest litigation filed by the People’s Union for Civil Liberty on no facilities provided to physically challenged people in the different courts in the state.
The bench asked the state government what steps have been taken by the authorities in making the atmosphere comfortable and friendly for the differently-abled litigants who come to court to redress their grievances. The case will again be heard on August 11.
The People’s Union for Civil Liberty, a social organisation, had filed the PIL seeking better facilities for the physically challenged people pursuing legal remedies in different courts in the state.
