Man arrested for sexually assaulting woman near temple

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Fort police on Friday arrested a 44-year-old man for sexually assaulting a woman near Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple.
The arrested has been identified by police as Christopher of Valiyashala at Thycaud.
The incident took place on Thursday evening when the 35-year-old woman came to worship at the Padmanabhaswamy temple.
The accused has been remanded after producing before a court on charges under section 354 of IPC for outraging the modesty of a woman.
The accused had escaped from the spot after the assault, but the police traced him with the help of CCTV footage and arrested him later.
