But before filming could start, there were delays brought on by unanticipated events. allu arjun put "Icon" on hold in the meantime and began working on other things.

Sriram venu has finally chosen to switch the film's lead actor after waiting over three years. Recent reports claim that he revised the "Icon" script and then contacted nithin with the updated version. nithin reportedly loved the script and gave his blessing. sriram venu will start working on this project as soon as "Vakeel Saab" is released in 2021.

There are rumours that the movie's pre-production work will start shortly and be followed by an official announcement about the project. After nithin completes his existing obligations with vakkantham vamsi and venky Kudumula, the normal filming schedule will start. Both of Nithin's next movies, which are in various stages of development, are anticipated to be released in 2024.

Venu sriram and allu arjun were scheduled to work together on Icon. Also publicly publicised was this project. However, as venu became preoccupied with Vakeel Saab, allu arjun decided not to take on this project. venu then started looking into other possibilities, and according to reports, he has since secured one after supposedly impressing Nithiin with the script.
