NOIDA: Along with infrastructure and civic projects for Noida and Greater Noida, chief minister Yogi Adityanath will lay the foundation stones for about a dozen power projects worth about Rs 105 crore on Sunday.
Some of these include new substations along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, six 33/11 kV substations in sectors 151, 155, 156, 162, 164, and Nagla Charan Dass in Phase 2 under the Bisrakh block, and feeder lines across some sectors. The work is expected to be completed in around 9–12 months.
“Nearly a dozen power projects will be launched by the chief minister on Sunday, where he will lay the foundation stones for them. Together, these projects are estimated to cost approximately Rs 15 crore,” said Rajesh Kumar, the deputy general manager (DGM) at the electrical and maintenance department of the Noida Authority.
Along with the new substations, feeder lines will be constructed from the 132 kV substation at Sector 67 to the 33 kV substations at sectors 58, 52, and 60. Similarly, an 11 kV feeder line will be constructed for power supply from Sector 153 to the upcoming Golf Course in Sector 151. Another 11 kV feeder line will be constructed from feeder number 9 at Sector 79 to Ved Van Park in Sector 78.
“All these power projects are expected to be completed in 9 to 12 months. Tenders have already been floated for five new substations along the Noida Expressway at sectors 151, 155, 156, 162, and 164,” added Kumar.
While the new substations, once ready, are expected to take the load off the older sectors and improve supply in the coming years, new feeder lines will also lead to better power supply days in the future, said the official.
