HYDERABAD: AICC in-charge of Telangana Manikrao Thakre on Friday alleged that BRS working president, minister KT Rama Rao's meetings with defence minister Rajnath Singh and proposed meeting with Union home minister
Amit Shah in Delhi is aimed at further strengthening the secret electoral alliance between BRS and
BJP.
"KTR is meeting the top leaders of BJP in Delhi on a day when the important meeting of anti-BJP political parties is being held in Patna. KTR's Delhi trip on this day is not a mere coincidence. The Congress has been saying that BRS and BJP have a tacit understanding between them," Thakre alleged, saying KTR is meeting the BJP leaders with an eye on the ensuing assembly elections in Telangana followed by Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
He further alleged that even the TRS was transformed into Bharat Rashtra Samithi to act as a 'B-team' of the BJP at the national level and help the saffron party by cutting into the vote-bank of anti-BJP parties.
Former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, ex-minister Jupally Krishna Rao and a few other leaders are likely to meet AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi on June 26. Later, Ponguleti and his followers are likely to join Congress at a public rally in Khammam in the presence of Gandhi family in July.
