Lovebirds consume poison; girl dies

VADODARA: An 18-year-old girl and her 21-year-old boyfriend consumed poison in Padra taluka of Vadodara on Thursday night as their families were against their relationship.
The girl Sneha Padhiyar, a resident of Luna village, died during treatment on Friday, while her boyfriend Akash Chauhan was under treatment.
Padhiyar’s family members blamed Chauhan for her death and urged the police to act against him. According to the police, Chauhan (21) and Padhiyar were in a relationship for the last three years. When she turned 18, they both decided to get married. When Chauhan told his family about his wish to marry Padhiyar, they got angry and asked him to end his relationship with her.
Both Chauhan and Padhiyar were upset over the rejection by his family. So, the couple decided to end their lives. On Thursday, they met in an open field and consumed a poisonous substance. When their families learnt about it, they rushed to the spot and took them to the hospital.
