HYDERABAD: In a bid to woo state government employees and pensioners ahead of assembly elections, the Telangana government led by CM K Chandrasekhar Rao has enhanced various allowances, salary advances and loan limits on Friday.
The enhancement has been announced in view of Telangana decennial celebrations.
According to the GO issued by the finance department on Friday, travelling, conveyance and transport allowance to those transferred from one station to another location was increased by 30%.
There would be Rs 150 additional allowance to fourth-class employees such as drivers and lift operators who work on holidays.
The house construction advance was increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakhs and car advance limit extended from existing Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.
Similarly, special compensatory allowance hiked by 30% for employees working in scheduled areas and conveyance allowance to employees with disabilities increased from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000. Employees working with state training institutes would get 30% incentive now onwards.
In view of increased costs, the state government increased marriage advance for employees' daughters from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 4 lakh and for sons from Rs 75,000 to Rs 3 lakh. If a pensioner dies, as of now the state government has been giving Rs 20,000 for funerals, which has now been increased to Rs 30,000.
Employees working with all protocol departments would get Rs 15% special pay, while cops working in Greyhounds, CID, Octopus, traffic would get pension pay as per 2020 pay scale.
