3 peddlers arrested, 345g heroin recovered
Ludhiana: In two separate cases, the anti-narcotic cell of Ludhiana police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 345g heroin, 20 empty pouches and an electronic weighing machine from their possession on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Amandeep Singh, 34, Prakash Kumar alias Pandit, 24, and Abhishek Kumar Munny, 34.
Deputy commissioner of police (investigation) Harmeet Singh Hundal said in the first case, Amandeep Singh was arrested at a checkpoint near Bulara village with 180g heroin. A case has been registered.
The accused Amandeep is already facing trial in three cases pertaining to scuffle and the Arms Act.
In the second case, Prakash and Abhishek were arrested near Fortis Hospital on Chandigarh Road with 165g heroin, 20 empty pouches and an electronic weighing machine. The accused were commuting on a bike, which has also been seized. A separate FIR has been lodged against the duo at Jamalpur police station. Prakash Kumar has a murder case on him which was registered in 2019 at Dugri police station. tnn
