Known as the first phone-free tourist island in the world, Ulko-Tammio is situated in the Eastern Gulf of
Finland.

It is a national park in the Nordic country that is known as the happiest country in the world six years consecutively.

It is, a bit paradoxically, home to Nokia, which is the brand behind the popular smartphone in current times in the world.

Mats Selin, adept in island tourism at Visit Kotka-Hamina, wants to request vacationers to switch off
their devices and to sincerely delight in the islands.

Ulko-Tammio is among the 41 national parks in Finland, and is unpopulated, but is home to several
uncommon birds and floras, which tourists can see on their treks along the island’s nature tracks or from the bird tower in the island.

For tourists, involvement in the digital detox in Ulko-Tammio is deliberate, and since the island is shielded by an operative mobile system, the attraction would be pervasive.

However, the staffs of Parks & Wildlife Finland who manages the island, expects that the movement turns
to tourists freeing themselves and getting involved with the flora and fauna and associated tourists.

Tourists can delight in their nights without phones on the island staying in tents and even a cabin.
