Ahmedabad: Harassed by 21-year-old son, couple calls Abhayam helpline

AHMEDABAD: A couple from Ghatlodia sought help from Abhayam 181 women helpline allegedly after facing harassment from their 21-year-old son. The youth is a final year engineering student in a private college.
Unknown to his parents, he had flunked multiple exams. He reportedly needed money constantly to show off in his friend circle. When his demands were not met, he would abuse his parents and break things at home.
Despite their limited income, the couple had taken loans for their son’s education.
The helpline provided counselling to the son, emphasizing the importance of refraining from abusive language and aggressive behaviour. The couple was informed about their legal rights in such situations.
